Cumberland Mountain State Park

The mountain bike network at Cumberland Mountain State Park (located in Crossville, Tennessee) is a compact, purpose-built 4-mile trail system designed exclusively for mountain biking. Unlike the multi-use hiking paths across the park, these singletrack trails strictly prohibit hiking, allowing riders to carry speed through dedicated skill-building features without worrying about foot traffic.
The system primarily consists of a core 3-mile loop made by combining the Alley Cat and Devil Dog trails, supplemented by progressive jump lines and a highly technical rock section.

Recommended Routes

Alley Cat Loop
Approximately 1.3 to 1.6 miles (often combined with Devil Dog to form a 3-mile loop). Easy to moderately challenging. Around 111 feet of climbing, featuring smooth climbs and quick descents. Natural-surface dirt path winding through hardwood forests of oaks and maples. Tight turns, gentle rollers, banked curves (berms), and occasional minor rocky sections. Dedicated exclusively to mountain biking; hiking is strictly prohibited on this trail, and helmets are mandatory.

Alley Cat and Devil Dog
When linked together, the Alley Cat and Devil Dog Loop forms the ultimate 3-mile signature singletrack ride at Cumberland Mountain State Park. By chaining these two trails together, you get a seamless, fast-flowing circuit that maximizes the park's rolling topography. After you do the route you will want send the jump lines.
